"Thank you for making our July 1st family float an experience to remember. With 31 people ranging in age from 6 to 78, you did an amazing job of accomodating every level of excitement and anxiety. The spectacular scenery of the gorge was only enhanced by your expertise and professionalism. With visitors from Utah, Seattle and Spokane, we were proud to "show off" the beauty and brilliance of rafting in Western Montana. Thank you for making it such a special event."
Sincerely,
K Byrne

MONTANA RIVER GUIDES
The only rafting company based right on the Clark Fork River at the Alberton Gorge's Entrance, Montana River Guides is a custom river outfitter with an established reputation for fun, professional river trips. Our staff’s attention to detail and ability to create the right trip for different groups of people is what has made our company the Gorge’s leading outfitter. We offer the convenience of a retail shop with free wetsuits right on the river at the Alberton Gorge. Operating since 1994, MRG is the only company in Montana certified to teach River Rescue and the only company in Montana guiding riverboard trips. Over 70 percent of our guests have been with us before or are going with us because they heard about us from a friend. More than anything else, our guides are the best in the business and are the reason we're proud of MRG. Guides like Cody Harris, Brittany Brindley, Tommy Snyder, Matt Drummond, Yael Girard, Martin Belden, Alan Burgmuller and Imo O'Reilly are keeping us on track--and getting better. Guides emeriti like Dave Glaser, Jeremy Moran, Jeff Risser, Trent Baker, Justus Mclarty, Meg Lattanzio, Sharon Eiler, Ryan Turner, Dan Berger, Rebecca Anderson, Kyle Erkilla, and Bret Mollenhauer have all left their mark at MRG and set a standard of guiding that we continue to aspire to.
MONTANA'S WHITEWATER RESCUE TRAINING LEADER
Montana River Guides has been the leader in Swiftwater Rescue Training in our region since 1995. Owner Mike Johnston got his start in Swiftwater Rescue back in 1986 when he was a patrol and backcountry ranger for the National Park Service in Yellowstone. Mike's wide range of outdoor leadership and rescue experience is reflected in MRG's development of a scenario-based approach to rescue training. Mike worked in Search and Rescue in Glacier, Acadia and Yellowstone National Parks, as a professional ski patroller and Outdoor Emergency Care Instructor for the National Ski Patrol, and as a wilderness guide. Mike founded Montana River Guides in 1994 and has been affiliated with Rescue 3 since 1996. Longtime lead guide, manager and swiftwater rescue instructor Longtime guide and rescue instructor Cody Harris has been an integral part of making sure that the classes we teach are the best in the business. A former whitewater slalom kayaker, Cody is the Director of the Whitewater Rescue Institute and a Wilderness Medicine Instructor for Aerie Backcountry Medicine. Cody and Mike have been teaching river and rescue classes together for almost a decade.

UNIQUE ADVENTURES: Over the years Montana River Guides has provided river rescue and safety instruction for thousands of boaters, guides and rescue professionals from over 150 different agencies and organizations on whitewater rivers throughout Montana and the west. Mike introduced Riverboarding to Montana back in 1995 and Montana River Guides continues to be the only Riverboard Guide Service in Montana and one of just a few in North America. Mike also serves as a whitewater consultant and among other less dramatic stints, served as a whitewater consultant for the Discovery Channel during the pilot production of "Man vs. Wild". Montana's River Guides whitewater headquarters on the Alberton Gorge is the setting for most of our whitewater adventures and rescue training, but through RESCUE 3 MONTANA , Mike has provided swiftwater rescue training on every major whitewater rafting run in Montana and many through out Idaho Washington and Oregon.
